There is this extremely pretty face on models in Europe that looks kind of geometrically perfect. But for some reason, it makes you feel stressed looking at it. It is perhaps the same reason why many people, including children, feel shy and avoid eye contact around a certain kind of pretty face. Some say it is blushing, but I don't know.
We take for granted how hypnotic the human face is. How seeing an expression on someone else almost compels you to wear the same expression as an involuntary form of empathy. And so, when you see a specific kind of pretty in ads and so on, the stress on their face kind of forces you to look at the accessories, clothes, and whatever other props they're selling.
But if you force yourself to look at the face, you cannot justify your repulsion. You're kinda conditioned to accept said person as objectively beautiful, and if you feel a repulsion towards the appearance of their face, you think the problem is you and not them. This double messaging is actually the marketing trick that builds up enough subtle fear in you to hypnotize yourself into constructing the belief that you want to wear Gucci or drive a Benz because you saw a pretty girl standing next to it.
But it also explains another important fact about the modelling industry: the fact that most models are traumatized to perform the way they perform, and a big part of that performance requires the model to never smile.
Anyway, it's a wild thought. Who knows.
