The most convincing description of the universe is as a recursive function that generates a multi-dimensional fractal. The question now is whether the dimensions are infinite (based on human comprehension limits) or if there are just too many.

If we're to be extremely generous with the definition of a fractal, a straight line too can be a fractal.
